Dhikala Canter Safari

Welcome to Canter Safari Booking to Jim Corbett National Park. Visitors can book online Canter Safari for Dhikala zone of Corbett National park. All the procedures of Canter Safari Booking at Corbett are managed by the forest officials as per the guidelines of India's forest department. Please note that we cannot influence the safari zone, safari driver and the naturalist guide as it is not in our hand. It is solely decided by the forest officials. Though all the zones have healthy population of tigers and wildlife sightings are reported more or less same. These all aspects are managed by the automated computerized system to ensure the equal distribution of safari vehicles in respective zones.

Dhikala Canter Safari

Dhikala area is the largest forest area of Corbett National Park and Dhanghari Gate is the gateway to Dhikala area. Dhangari Gate is 18 km from Ramnagar and 31 km from Dhikala tourist area is Dhangri Gate.

The Dikala region is home to a large number of Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, wild boars, black bears, sloth bears, Indian muntjacs (barking deer), hogs, sambar deer, yellow sables, otters and gharials. Wildlife such as the golden oriole, Pallas's eagle, Indian gall, tawny owl, golden mahseer, scarlet minivet and birds such as the great pied or hornbill, orange-breasted green pigeon, Hodgson's bush chat, white-backed vulture, and reptiles such as the gharial or alligator, but or the crocodile and the king cobra.

Dhikala Jeep Safari

Unlike the other zones of the Jim Corbett National Park, the Dhikala zone doesn't offer the Jeep safari facility for the day visitors. Only the tourists who have the booking in the forest rest houses located in the zone can enjoy the Jeep safari in Dhikala. After getting the permit for the night stay in any FRH in the zone, you have to hire a Jeep with a driver and a naturist in order to get inside the park and visit your booked forest house.

Dhikala Jeep Safari

Chaurs (Grass Lands) :- Dhikala is famous for the vast grassland that is packed with Elephants, Spotted Deer, Wild pigs, Hog Deer. Often visitors can spot a wild Tiger crossing the grassland or chasing a deer.

Watch Tower :- Watchtower situated at Dhikala is perfectly located and enables you to get an excellent view of wildlife which are come for grazing into the nearby chaurs (Grass Lands), It also gives you an excellent view of the entire ramganga riverbed as well as a large section of Dhikala chaur. This watchtower is located at a 10 mins walk from Dhikala forest rest louse. There is a man-made waterhole around fifty yards to the south of the watchtower which makes it the perfect place to spot Deers, elephants, wild pigs, and occasionally a Tiger.

Crocodile Point At Gairal :- The crocodile pool is located on the short cut from Gairal to the other rest houses west of it. It is also a balcony-like natural structure, which looks down upon a pool almost permanently inhabited by crocodiles.
